A body was found at the science building on the UBC Okanagan Campus. There are currently 4 suspects in custody and are being questioned as we speak. There are reports of an eye witness who claims they saw 2 students leaving the laboratory roughly 30 minutes after the attack. Just enough time to hide the evidence. There are currently 2 investigators on scene, searching for evidence to put the killer behind bars.
Update, 1:06pm
Investigator Ross has obtained a blood sample that was not quite scrubbed clean from the floor of the crime scene. The amount of blood obtained was significant and is undergoing RFLP analysis. Just in, investigator Fuhrmann was searching through a dumpster when she noticed her hand bleeding and further down was a knife. The knife was obtained as evidence and DNA is currently trying to be obtained to identify the knife as a murder weapon.
Update 3:16 pm In order to rule out investigator Fuhrmann, a VNTR analysis of her cheek cells were performed. She also reports that her hand is healing well, and in fact skin cells were obtained from the knife and are currently being amplified by PCR to undergo STR analysis.
Update 5:12pm
The VNTR analysis came back with no results, which could implicate investigator Fuhrmann in the murder. Special Agent James has pulled her off the case for validity of the investigation. Although this has been a major set back, the RFLP and STR data came back positively identifying that Le'Monjellos' DNA was present on the knife and the blood obtained on the floor was from him. Investigator Ross is in interrogation room 3 trying to get a confession.
Update 8:39pm
Le'Monjello has confessed; the pressure was too much to handle. For full details on the confession, see "The Confession" above, but first learn how the DNA evidence was handled in order to convict Le'Monjello.
